Colour

Colour: it is a basic element of visual language. It is a light impression that arrives to the eyes which send the i formation to the brain.

Primary: red, blue V and green.

Secondary: magenta,yellow and cian.

Pigments: you make the pigments with natural thing that have color and then you use it for crayon ,pen...

Primary: magent, cian and yellow

Secundary: blue,red and green

THE THREE PROPERTIES OF COLOUR:

Hue: also called tone or tint, it is the name of the colour defined by its wave lenght.

Saturation: degreeof purity of a color. If a color is very saturated it means that it is very pure and doesn't have many colouts it is mix.

Value: sometimes called brightess it is the amount of black or white that a colour has is its mix.

Definitions about textures

Texture: it is the visual and tactile quality of the surfaces due to the material.

Tactile textures: are those thar can be percired through the sense of touch.

Visual textures: those which can only be percibed through the sense of sight.

Natural textures: thouse that can be found in the nature.

Artificial texture: are those created by the human being manually or mecanically.

Rubning thecnique: it consists on frictioning or rubbing a crayon or colored pencil on a thin paper wich is over a surface witj a tactile texture so the texture gets copied on de paper.

Scratchboarding: it is usually done with waxed colors and it consists on giving two coats of color to the media(paper, wood...)beging the second one darker, so when scra5ching over the first layer the second one shows up

Plane

Plane: also called shape in visual arts, it could be a spot or a brush srok. It is a two dimensional surface height and width not depth, it has position and direction on the space.

The plane three-dimensional capacity: one of the main goals of the plane consists on a creating volume when several flat shapes get together in different directions.

Flat organic shapes: they follow natural principes and can take countless appearances.

Flat geometric shapes: they follow matematical principles. In visual arts there are three mains basic geometric shapes: circle, square and triangle.

NOTES OF ART:

IMPORTANT DEFINITIONS  ABOUT SYMETRY:

Symmetry: it is a quality of some shape which some of their parts are reflexion of others.

Refection symmetry ( line symmetry) :  it  is  a shape cuality which is formed by two halves facing each other with an axis or fold line in between as is both side were mirror images of each other

Axis symmetry : it's a line which divides a shape into two symmetry halves. Every elements are the same distance from the axis.

Center symmetry: it's a line which divides a shape into two symmetry halves. Every elements are the same same distance from the centre.

VOCABULARY :

DOT :

Dot: it's a smallest and most simple element in art expression. It's first target is to idicate a position since it doesn't follow any direction. It may have different qualities size,  shape and color.

The dot three-dimensional capacity: when the size,  shapes and colors are changed,  the dot can create visual sensation of spacial ,deepres and volume .

The dot expresive capacity: the point has a unlimited capacity to represent  images and express ideas and emotions. To do so visual effect are used.

Optical mix: when colors are mixed with the help of distance. Point isn't mixed on the palette or on the painting. The optical mix was used first by the pointillist.

LINES:

Lines: it can be defined as a dot in  movement. It has position and direction in the space and are of its principal function consists on marking the shapes outline.

                                                             TIPES OF LINES:

Zig-zag or broken lines: they are formed by several fragments of straight lines with differents directions.

● Wavy line: they are formed by several fragments of curved lines.

Curly lines: they hold more curves than wavy lines and show loops.

Scribble: chaotic or meaningless lines that are traced randomly, usually in first stages of chilhood or to fill in some area with a particular texture .

Hatching : it's a way of shading or giving tores to the areas of objects or surfaces with parallel lines

Dashed ( or dotted ) lines: they are lines which aren't continuous , formed by littel braces or dots.

Blured: they are very soft or vanished so they are hard to see and opposite to intense and deep.

Simple lines : those that are formed by only one line.

Compoite lines: they are lines composed by fragments of several ,straight and curved lines.

                                          EXPRESSIVENESS OF LINES:

Vertical line expressivenes: the express an asscendent or descendent movement , despeding on how they are used

Orizantal lines expressiveness: they produce visual feeling of stability and calmness or tranquility , but they can be monotone if they used to much.

Skew lines expressiveness: they produced unsteadiness and movement feelings . These feelings give inclined lines and sensation of dynamism.

IMPORTANT DEFINITONS ABOUT CIRCLES

Circle: set of points at the same distance to a point called 'centre'.

Circunference:  it's the full lenght of a circle.

Centre: it's a point equidistant to any point on a circle.

Radius: it's a length of a line segment from the centre to its perimeter.

Diameter: a line segment that pases though  the centre and conects two points of a circle. Its length is double the radius.

Chord: line segment which conects two points of  the circle not through the centre.

Arc: segment of a circle.

Arrow: its a line segment centre chord and pass to the centre.

IMPORTANT DEFINITONS ABOUT ANGLES  AND LINES

Parallels: they are two lines which never intersect them selves so all their points are equidistant.

Perpendicular: they are  line with meat forming four right angles.

Oblicue: they are  line which are not parallels neither perpendicular.

ANGLES : it's a figure formed by two rafs sharing a common endpoint ( vertex ).

 Types of angles (position )

Complementari angles: they are couples of angles which sum is 90°.

Suplementary angles: they are couples of angles which sum is 180°.
 Types of angles (form).

They can be: right, obtuse, acute, flat, complement, cero.

The angle bisector: when I drive an angle into two equals parts.

OPERATIONS WITH ANGLES

-Adition:

-Subtraction:
-Multiply:

-Divide a right angle in 3 parts equals:

POLYGONS

Star poligons: its a particular polygon case whith a star shape, created out of linking together non consecutive of a regular polygon.

Inscribed polygon: they are polygons placed inside circles so all the vertex of the polygon are placed on the circle.

Convex polygon: any line draw through the polygon meets its boundary exctly twice.

Non-convex (concave): a line maybe found which meets its boundary more more than twice.

TRIANGLES: it's a flat with 3 sides and 3 angles.

Construction an equilateral triangle when I know 1 side

Construction an equilateral triangle when I know the radius:

Construction an isosceles triangle when I know 2 sides:

Made a right triangle when I know 2 sides:

Made a right triangle when I know 1 sides and the apotem:

Do the triangle when I know three sides:

QUADRILATERAL

They are polygons with 4 sides and four angles.

 Paralellograms
They are quadrilaterals with 2 sides of parallel opposite equal sides and 2 pairs opposite equal angles.

 Non-parallelograms or trapezium
Only one pair of sides are parallels.

HALLOWEEN  POWERPOINT:

Celtic and roman cultures began with HALLOWEEN tradition.
The celts of Britain  ,Ireland and French celebrated Samhain ,the begining of the winter.
Souling was a tradition when the poor people went around houses asking for food, now this is a game for the children and its name is Trick or treat.
Pumkin, blak cats, frogs, mice, spiders ,witches...are associated with HALLOWEEN party.
